Wearable-tech

Intro.

Our wearable reminder system focuses on simply reminding diabetics to think about their disease every few hours and take actions to take care of themselves accordingly. Low-cost and easy to use without access to a medical professional, our device ensures that a diabetic doesn’t forget to do essential tasks like take insulin or check their blood sugar throughout the day, essential steps in the successful treatment of diabetic. A simple LED will light every four hours, and when the patient sees that light, they will self-evaluate to see which action they should perform to keep themselves healthy as a diabetic. The lack of specific assignment, as well as an electronic component called a potentiometer and a flexible wristband allow this device to be changed based on an individual patient’s needs. The education provided by our app will give the patients the knowledge to make smart choices in regards to their treatment, as guided by the scientific facts and treatment suggestion given by the app. A reminder system worn on the patient has been shown to result in positive outcomes for the specific objective. Looking at FitBits one can see that when someone is casually reminded to think about any aspect of their life that is problematic daily, they improve in that area.

Function System

After the electronics component is scaled down to be able to fit onto the wristband, it is glued on the wrist band and then is complete. It reminds diabetes patient of their daily routines by flashing the LED so that they can  treat their diabetes better. The intervals at which the LED flash are initially set by the 555 timer and these are based on statistical data based on standard metabolic rates in the human body. The user could customize the time period by using the potentiometer on the band and adjust them according to their specific needs.
